About me

I have a variety of work that Charles Handy would call a portfolio. It includes being a sessional doctor for GMED in Elgin, GP Appraiser and Performance Assessor. I am part of a team helping to train Appraisers and other doctors in the area of communication.

After nine years as a GP in Edinburgh I have worked in a wide variety of sessional posts including time for the RAF and the Army. I have worked for the Open University as an Associate Lecturer on courses on Death and Dying and Working for Health.

I have trained as a coach and a group facilitator. I am fascinated by the factors that motivate us to work and play. And I'm curious about the origin of conflict and how we can learn to work together in teams. This year I trained in mediation or the art of resolving conflict.

I enjoy making a difference and watching potential unfold.

Some aspects of life that bring me satisfaction include
  • seeing vegetables and people grow
  • singing
  • slow food
